If it wasn't going to be an american at The Open Darren Clarke would have been my first choice. Overcoming the loss of his wife with two young boys to raise had to be extremely tough. Throw in the fact that he's a great guy and a person most people can relate to makes him great champion. Congrats to the Northern Irishman.
