New Football Commit: Cody Quinn, CB - 4 Months, 1 Week ago Mon, Jan 16, 2012 2:40am

Being reported all over now...KACAT commented earlier this weekend he thought it would happen and it did.
This is a kid the new DB coach, Coach Cassity, brought with him from his recruiting efforts at Marshall (he was never committed there). He had several BCS offers and is a 3* CB. Figures to have a shot at PT as a true frosh this fall.

I really like this pickup. I am also VERY intrigued by a number of these late interest guys, such as Imani Cross (HUGE RB out of GA who was previously committed to UT....4* on ESPN and 3* on all other services, 6' 220 and bench presses 400, that is FOUR HUNDRED, lbs and squats 500). I know RB is not a major need in this class with Mobley on board, but I am at the "take the best players available" point now, with at least one of those hopefully being a WR.

At this point, give me any combination of Andrades, Core, Cross, Thornton, Ervilus, Moncrief, and Henderson and I will be one hell of a happy fan. I know we won't take BOTH Cross and Thornton, but I would gladly take 1 of them and any 2 or 3 of the others. My dream way to close out the class (out of that bunch) would be that we get the following 4 (I'm playing the odds that a couple current commitments either decommit or lose their offer due to grades):
Henderson (4* OLB, former UT commitment, who looks like a Danny T clone in his highlight videos, only faster and meaner);
Cross (4* RB, former UT commitment, 6'1" 225 and runs like a pissed off Mack truck);
Ervilus (3* DE/TE athlete in the mold of Dupree, only bigger and faster);
Andrades (3* WR who is big and physical, but also runs good crisp routes, is quick off the LOS and has great hands)
If we lose out on any of them, I will gladly take Moncrief, Core or Thornton as a "fallback" option. No questoin there are more unknown (to the public) recruits on our board as well, but I would LOVE to see us close out with some big time gets like this....please, just for once, little baby Jesus.

It's really interesting to see the staff still recruiting as hard as they are...it is becoming obvious our class won't look like it does today on signing day. With all the guys we are in on at the moment it could easily improve. I just hope we don't lose those DLine prospects.
