Yeah, yeah, I know, it's baskteball season. UK is getting ready to put a whipping on UL this Saturday. But I can't help it. As much as they make my blue blood boil, I love them as much. I know it is silly, but I love the start of football season.
With the conference schedule now complete, UK was able to finalize dates, times and opponents for its four non-conference games. Those games remain unchanged and are included in the complete 2012 schedule below:
Sept. 1 - at Louisville
Sept. 8 - Kent State
Sept. 15 - Western Kentucky
Sept. 22 - at Florida
Sept. 29 - South Carolina
Oct. 6 - Mississippi State
Oct. 13 - at Arkansas
Oct. 20 - Georgia
Oct. 27 - at Missouri
Nov. 3 - Vanderbilt
Nov. 17 - Samford
Nov. 24 - at Tennessee http://www.ukathletics.com/blog/201...ll-schedule-released.html

Who did Missouri replace? I guess what I'm asking is who would have been originally in that spot on the schedule if Missouri hadn't joined the SEC? Would it have been Bama?

We were supposed to get LSU at home, but that was replaced by having to go to Mizzou. Pretty dang good trade off, if you ask me. Due to the shake-up, we also get MSU at home for the 2nd year in a row instead of having to go to Starkville. Good trade off as well.

The schedule isn't easy as we lose Ole Miss; however, some of the road games are games we wouldn't have honestly won anyway. There IS a glimmer of hope that success can be at the other end of this thing. I was on the assumption that we were playing an impossible gauntlet this year.

As I remember, we would have picked up Arkansas as an away game, had LSU as a home game, and had Mississippi State away (we were already scheduled to lose Ole Miss). We still pick up Arkansas away, traded our home game LSU for a repeat home date with Mississippi State, and picked up Missouri to replace the away game with Mississippi State. I agree, this seems like a lot of real favorable horse trading. I think this gives us a better shot at a decent season. I think another season like the past one, and we are starting over again, under a new regime.

I can't count 6 wins on that schedule realistically, missou isn't as good as LSU sure but that's not a win really either, no ole miss takes away a decent shot for a win. I see 3-5 wins on that schedule unless we make some remarkable improvements in the near future.
"That’s some hard-rocking dudes. They have a real shot (at 2012 national title).” - Kansas Coach Bill Self about the 2011-2012 Cats
"I'm ust focused on winning a national championship for Coach Cal and bringing Big Blue Nation number eight. That’s the only thing I’m focused on right now.” - Anthony Davis
Congratulations Coach Cal on handing your opponents their asses 500 times and counting

The SEC wanted to keep all the cross divisional rivalries playing on a yearly basis.
Good thing, cause I hates those Bulldogs as badly as the Vols are Louisville. RIVALRY! They are Bulldogs, right? ha ha
