For me personally, this off-season of coaching moves is the most interesting in years. A lot of this is due to one thing...Charlie Strong at U of L.
I may be in the minority, but I am scared to death of him at U of L. I know the popular thing is to bash on him and not ever give him the benefit of the doubt because he coaches at U of L, I even try to do this, but he scared me this year. He took THAT team to a 7-5 record and we all know about the Big Least. I was just amazed at how they were able to win any games with all the holes they had. They certainly improved over the course of the season and they are recruiting star power if nothing else. Heck, I don't claim to know what the future holds for them, but he has that program which was a disater when he took over headed in the right direction. If you don't think so either I'm crazy or you need to take off the blue tinted glasses.
With that said, it looks like with all the movement in the coaching ranks this off-season his time at U of L may be short lived...as many of us has always suspected it would be.
It is being reported he is in the top two with the USM coach, Fedora, for the aTm job after their fan base completely flipped out when they were about to hire Sumlin from Houston. I don't know what the deal is at aTm and why they had such disdain for Sumlin, but I think this is great news for all of us. If they are indeed moving on in their search Strong is a good candidate and rumor is he reached out to them to get the ball rolling telling us, if true, he is indeed looking around.
If Strong doesn't end up getting the aTm job, he would probably be a top candidate for a potential Arkansas opening. Another option for him would be MSU if Mullen moved to Penn State.
So, we can all wait and hpe, at least I'll be hoping, that Strong's time at U of L is over and they will be forced to hire in this horrible offseason for finding a coach. In my mind, I hope this is the first of a one-two punch to knock U of L football out. First, lose a top notch coach and not be able to replace him...second, get stuck in conference purgatory without an automatic bid.

I can't see Strong at College Station, and i'm even more surprised they are offering it to a C-USA coach. Texas A&M is (was) one of the best jobs in college football. Sumlin would have made more sense but I'm surprised the fan outlash is what it is.
From everything I've read, Mack Brown is staying put at Texas. I wonder if Petrino would have an interest in A&M.

It is a really top notch program now that they are in the SEC especially. You've got that Texas talent and you could easily pull kids from Florida, and Georgia there with the right person in charge. I think its a better program than Arkansas but not quite big enough for Petrino to make that move.

Multiple outlets are reporting Fedora is going to be the next HC at UNC. I thought this was the #2 candidate at aTm behind Sumlin #1. If Sumlin doesn't get this job, I think it is going to be Strong.
I REALLY thought we were going to see Fedora at aTm...I think the chances Strong goes there are higher than ever.
