From the best I can tell this is the place to go for news on college coach movement. First, let me say I find a lot of the hiring unusual which is to say us fans speculating mid-season is pretty much way wrong and useless from a predictability standpoint.

On to the news:

Sumlin looks to be leaving Houston for aTm. Arizona no longer pursuing. I am bummed...I was hoping they would take Strong.

Ark. loses their OC to be the HC at UAB.

Illinois is targeting Big Ten coordinators.

Ole Miss is close to hiring the HC from Ark State, Freeze, after being turned down by Southern Miss. HC Larry Fedora. I have to say that's embarrasing to be turned down by Fedora. Sorta like if Willie Taggart turned down UK, but admittedly USM is a better job than WKU.

Speaking of Fedora he is high on the list of Kansas and UNC. I think he it were offered both jobs he would HAVE to go to UNC. No way anybody would go to KU with the potential to be homeless in 2/3 years conference wise. KU is going to have a tough time I think.

UCLA is attracting a lot of attention from NFL assistants. Doesn't seem to be many/any college HC's excited about going into the same town as USC. USC has just not been hurt by NCAA sanctions it seems, Kiffin is maturing as a coach and they will be ready in a year or two to compete again for the conference. With that said, the sanctions may have more of an effect the next two years than we have seen to date, but ever recruit they get with what scholly's the have is 4/5 star.

I find the June Jones to Arizona State to be interesting.

Pretty cool site.

Here is what that site is saying about Martz...

"Mike Martz: Adam Schefter just tweeted that Mike Martz is not expected to return to Chicago when his contract expires at the end of this season. He added "colleges could be in play". Honestly, we haven't heard of an administration seriously considering him."

So, I guess he could be after the ASU job but it doesn't appear to be after him.

I'd take Jones over Martz all day long.

yeah I thought I read somewhere that they were talking to him, he used to be OC there. I think his offense would do pretty good in the college ranks, especially in the PAC99 or whatever they are today.

I think that's about as good a hire Kansas could hope for....but I consider that a bad hire. It should do what they need it to do though, give them a lot of legitimacy and some juice so they can hopefully find a major conference home if something goes haywire in the next two years.

You really think Weiss will give them legitimacy to find a major conference? He failed at ND and then his offense was putrid (by UF/SEC standards) this year. I think the legitimacy thing is something that is still yet to be determined.

Weiss being hired in college is like Bill Callahan, Dave Wannstedt, or Jim Morra Jr. being hired as head coaches in the NFL. Just a hilariously bad hire.

I agree with you 100%, he's going to be horrible. But yes I do think he gives them legitimacy over a coach from Directional State Univ. who nobody has heard of which is what they were faced with hiring, if not a coordinator nobody knew.
