1) Is he getting the position and if so why the wait on the hire?


2) Along with his connection in the shoe industry i think it is a great possible hire because his dad was on the NCAA Rules Committee,helped in the selections process for the tournament and of course was our AD.

Not a bad way to show the NCAA we plan to remain the leaders in compliance. I think it's a good PR move in that way. Not the sole reason for the hire but nonetheless it can't hurt with the NCAA.

Not sure what you mean.... He is already the Director of Basketball Ops.... it's been done for a bit.

Sources are telling 27 Sportsfirst that Martin Newton, Nike's sports marketing manager and the son of former UK Athletic Director C.M. Newton will be named Kentucky's Director of Basketball Operations.
Newton has been with Nike for 13 years and prior to working with Nike he worked for Converse for 13 years.
Our own Rob Bromley had the pleasure of having Martin Newton as the color analyst for 10 years during the big blue sports networks broadcast of uk games.
Our sources tell 27 Sportsfirst the announcement will come on June 1st

i need you to help me straighten out some problems i am having with
