Derrick Jasper voted MWC preseason newcomer of the year

8655 The Mountain West Conference released its preseason media polls, and all-conference team today.

Former Wildcat Derrick Jasper, who transfered to UNLV, has been named as the conference pre-season newcomer of the year.

Jasper, while in UK blue, was a very solid player who was among the better rebounders on the team even playing from the pg position much of the time.

Congratulations to Derrick Jasper for being recognized as being an impact player in the MWC this coming season!

Best of luck to Jasper. I hope he exceeds all expectations out there. He was a great Wildcat. I think last year would have been a different season with him around.
